Ho! Ho! Ho!
I made it through Christmas! With all the traveling, food, walking, etc. associated with Christmas I have to admit I was a tad apprehensive going into it. My back held up quite well. The biggest difference I noted was that my endurance has increased and the 'payback' I am use to getting for pissing off my cyst has lessened. In my mind this is a really great sign that I am slowly healing this thing. I can actually see a day where I am symptom free in my future...maybe a long way into my future, but just the same, seeing it is a huge deal for me. Another cool thing is that my mind has shifted. Before I would dread having to get up and make my juice or deal with preparing my healthy meals. Now I don't think about it one way or another, it is just what I do. They say it takes 6 weeks to form a new habit and I have to say it is pretty accurate because I am in my 7th week of being on this regime. I rec'd tons of new vegan/vegetarian/raw food cookbooks for Christmas and I have been slowly going through them and selecting more adventurous recipes. My main goal is to add a lot more variety into my daily intake. I have included collard greens and turnip tops into my juice and I must say they are not the sweetest veggies I hve ever tasted, but I can deal with it. Juicing is like anything else, oncce you get use to it you can handle it a lot better. I could probably juice the nastiest thing you could imagine at this point and drink it no problem! I have noticed that I am not getting enough fruit (something made apparent to me by the fact that I have caught a cold twice in a row from my nephew). I had a mixture of juiced pineapple, apple and orange yesterday and it was super-duper fantastic! The only real setback I have at this particular point in time is that I accumulated and ungodly amount of organic chocolate bars in my stocking and I can't let it go to waste, right? My mind is telling me no, but my body is telling me yes!
