I happened across this website called http://www.curezone.com/ and it had great information about the curing protocol for cysts. It also explained what causes the formation of cysts in an interesting way. It explains that our bodies deal with an immense amount of daily toxins in general. However, as society progresses (read: goes downhill) more and more bodly toxins are introduced into our systems. Of course our bodies can only deal with so many toxins at once and so the excess builds up all over and creates areas of rancidity (from blocking normal fucntioning of the area it has built up on). This rancidity creates an even larger number of toxins that your body must deal with. There are many conditions that could present themsleves as a result of this process, one of which is cysts.
The protocol it suggests is essentially the same as the one I am already following as presented by Kris Carr. Might I point out that pretty much any research that I have done and any interviews I have read or watched featuring top specialists, has suggested a similiar diet to Kris Carr's. Basically, vegan, mostly raw, fresh and organic produce mixed in with some grains, seeds and nuts...oh and lots of water! For this reason I feel very certain about my diet choice, it is when you get into herbs and medicinal cominations that I am not so sure.
Another strong theory that I have come across as a cause of cysts is based on an inbalance of estrogen. Of course, I automatically think that this is in direct reference to cysts of the female organs (ie uterus, ovaries, etc). However, in further reading I found that they include multiple cyst locations within their information, to include cysts of the liver, kidneys, etc. Iterestingly, no one mentions cysts of the spine (lucky us to have so much to go off of...). The main recommended product for treating cysts is a supplment called Dr. Chi's Myomin, which acts to balance estrogen levels and therefor reduce cysts and/or tumors. That sounds all great and dandy and I have even had a dream that I should buy this stuff and try it, but there is a missing piece of the puzzle. In my mind I cannot decipher if a Tarlov Cyst is like a regular cyst. I don't want to waste any money on a supplement if it will not work on my condition. As I understand it, a regular cyst is formed in the tissue of whatever it is growing on and is filled with a puss like substance. In contrast, a Tralov Cyst is formed when CSF fluid forces it's way into an opening (created by damage) in your nerve sheath. In essence it sort of just fills up like a balloon. Because of this stark difference I cannot wrap my head around the two cysts being similiar and therefor the two cysts responding to the same treatment.
I think in the near future I should try and find a naturopathic doctor in the closest city and setup an appointment. I really want to make sure I am taking my herbs right and that I get on an herbal program that will speed my recovery. I am such a dramatically different person because of this disease and the lifestyle it has created that I cannot wait to be free of it! I have so much life inside of me now, that use to be hidden by all of the substances and crap I was poisioning myself with. I feel so clear headed and optimistic. My husband and I laughed in irony the other day that I was now both the healthiest I had ever been and the sickest...guess which one is going to win?
