A New Kind of Pain...

I have officially been on my new anti-inflammatory herbs for two days now and I have no complaints. Before I had wide-spread pain that engulfed my entire lower and middle back, as well as both sides of my ass. It obviously made it unbearable to walk or do anything, as you already know from experience. Now I have no wide-spread pain, but I have a weird, new localized pain that is just at the exact location of the cyst. Clearly then, there is pain from both the inflammation and the cyst where it is. Now that I have removed the inflammation pain I am left with the cyst pain. Comparitively, it is nothing (let's hope it stays that way!). It is definately a nerve pain that only hits if I move a certain way. I am actually pretty happy about this for two reasons:
  • First and foremost, the pain is essentially gone! I haven't felt like this since I was the old me in my old life...I really thought I would never feel that way again.
  • In my mind the fact that the inflammation is no longer interfering the cyst can begin to heal and may be doing just that.
I am really anxious to see how this thing unfolds over the next several days and to chart my progress. My goal for today's research is to look into the safety of mixing a large number of herbs/vitamins and to also take a look into the possibility of my system building of an immunity to the herbs, thus making them less effective over time. I already have some indication as to what the answer will be based on information that I have picked up here and there, but I want to be sure. A personal goal for the day is to begin adding in more walks for exercise. Things aren't as perky as they use to be a year ago, before I became bed ridden. My saving grace has been that the clean diet I am on has actually assisted me in dropping to a weight very near what I weighed in college, which helps hide a lack of firmness!
