Why raw? Can't you just cook the vegetables and that be good enough? I mean a vegetable is a vegetable right? In short, no. Vegetables are a living thing, just like us, and just like us, they die if they are thrown into a boiling batch of water, on top of hot coals, or in a frying pan on the stove. In order for us to heal ourselves from within we are essentially stealing the life force from these plants and using it to strengthen our own life force. For this to happen, we have to ingest these foods while they are still alive, ie raw. This is why juicing is so important to the cause. A big glass of green juice is chalked full of all of the nutrients, enzymes and vitamins that the plant is using to sustain its own life. If we mix all of that in with a healthy diet and our own healing system the result is astounding! That is why when you drink a big glass of green your body wakes up and fills with energy. I cannot stress enough the importance of raw vegetables and fruits if you are trying to heal yourself. The body is capable of amazing things on its own, so just imagine what it is capable of with the help of healing foods. It is guaranteed to speed the healing process. I guarantee it myself and I feel a thousand percent confident in doing so. After all, I am 'walking' proof literally! A lot of people are hesitant to juice because lets be honest, it is a real pain in the ass. Just eating larger amounts of raw foods can be sufficient for some, but if you are a fellow Tarlovian, juice is a must. If you choose to try and heal this thing on your own there are certain sacrifices that must be made, but once you begin juicing and you see the great reduction in your pain I think you will find it easier and easier to drag the juicer out each day. In almost 3 months I have only missed one day of juicing and that’s specifically because juicing is such a large component to the quality of my life. So, if you only take one thing from this blog, let it be to begin juicing. That is the most important advice I can offer. There is just no way we could physically eat the variety of leafy, green vegetable that we need to heal in one day. But, we can definitely juice the crap out of them and drink it down. Consider this, I drink 32 ounces of green juice a day. In this juice is the following:
- 5 stalks of kale
- 2 stalks of collards
- 2 cucumbers
- 4 stalks of celery,
- 5 romaine lettuce leafs
- 1 whole green apple
- Large handful of sprouts
- Large handful of carrots
Try eating that for breakfast! Believe me you couldn’t and you wouldn’t want to! So, bust out your juicer and let the healing commence! We all owe it to ourselves...
