Vitamin C Created Equally?

Is all Vitamin C created equally? Not so much. In The Gerson Therapy they advocate large doses of Vitamin C given intravenously. The reason they give it intravenously is due to the fact that Vitamin C is water soluble and therefor only so much of it can be absorbed through your stomach. By pass the stomach with a needle and voilĂ , you’ve got a large amount of the good stuff going straight into your system. Sounds great, right? Well, you know, except for the needle part. The problem is that the FDA has made it nearly impossible for the average Sally to get their hands on the stuff and if you were able to find a doctor to administer it for you, whose got the money to go in for an injection every day? I had been taking a regular over the counter vitamin c tablet and began taking it in high doses. It definitely gave me marked improvement, but my fellow Tarlovian, Elaina, brought me some useful information to move me into the next phase. Her Dietician had pointed out to her that if the color of your pee is continually a darker yellow then your body isn’t absorbing most of what you are taking, given that you are on a healthy diet which would normally equate to clear pee. I haven’t had clear pee this whole time due to the supplements I had been taking, but since I began upping my does of the Vitamin C pill it had become darker. Guided by her new information I researched on what the next best thing to intravenous was and came up with Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C.  Lypo-Spheric Vit. C has a sort of shield around it so that it makes the trip safely through your stomach and then delivers the goods once on the flip side of the inside (make sense?!). Thus delivering a greater amount directly to where it is needed the most. Buying your Vitamin C this way is not cheap, but I wouldn’t be recommending it so highly if I hadn’t tried it and been blown away by it first.

I paid about $80 for two boxes with 30 1,000mg doses per box. I have been taking it for one box worth now and I am hooked. Since beginning this regimen I get better and better. I would actually consider myself very near remission right now. I am not experiencing hardly any symptoms at all and am able to do more and more with each day. I have been slowly adding exercise back into my routine and have had more issues with sore muscles from lack of use then back issues! As it stands I still do not know if I can get rid of this damn thing, but I do know that it can be put into remission and life can go on…without having your spinal cavity and root sac cut into. That information may be the single most important information I can ever give to you. Believe in the process and believe in yourself.

  2. Hi Margaret!
Oh I am so glad you like the blog! Sorry to hear you have need to read it though. I do love and still take lypo-speric vitamin c. I try to take 2,000 mg a day, which equals 2 packets. I defintely think it has helped and is essential in restoring my health. I posted more details on this subject in my blog entry for today called Personal Update 09/07/11, if you would like to read a little more about it. Please, don't hesitate to email me with any questions, revelations, disease connections, updates, etc! I really do believe that if we all worked together and shared information we could get to the bottom of this darn thing for one and for all! So glad to hear from you! Have a wonderful, kale filled day! Cheryl
